Industry experts regularly talk about the importance of links and how they have impacted their award-winning SEO strategies, however, they never seem to give examples of this outreach in practice. Wolfgang wanted to flip this on its head. So at 3XE in Croke Park, Brendan and Kevin gave attendees a solid background on the importance of links in SEO right through from the dawn of the web, to the most recent Google Algorithm update ‘Penguin 4.0’ which is now baked into the core Google algorithm.
This was followed up with two examples of how link building works with great content, as well as five link acquisition strategies that any search marketer can practice. Following these presentations, any brand should be fully equipped to start acquiring links for their own website or blog. Other tactics that were mentioned included local citations, broken link building and brand mentions.
